Many of you will know that gossip is rife within the Spiritualist Community but recent gossip started by an individual at Reading Spiritualist Church has helped me decide that I can no longer demonstrate at Reading Spiritualist Church.  I am yet to decide whether I will demonstrate mediumship at any SNU Church from now on. 

Whilst I have made a complaint to the church, I felt that is was handled inappropriately – especially when it was the individual concerned who replied to my complaint and hand delivered it to my door!

As a spiritualist, I am keen to live my life by the 7 principles, even when circumstances make it difficult.  I would have accepted an apology from the person concerned and moved on but considering the content and tone of the reply, I can only feel sorry for the individual and hope that they learn their lessons soon before they damage spiritualism, the spiritualist community in Reading and Reading Spiritualist Church any further.  The matter is now in the hands of a solicitior as the lies being spread are libellous.

Many people will know that I did hold Reading Spiritualist Church very close to my heart until a power struggle occured there last year and I, like other officers there, were removed by the NEC clearing the path for the mentioned individual above to obtain the power they were seeking and obsessing about.  It was these events that showed me how corrupt the organisation is and caused me to lose faith in the SNU as an organisation and agree that it is no longer representative of the spiritualists and churches that are affiliated to it.  I am no longer a member of an SNU affiliated church and am letting my Class B Membership and my SNU Award lapse.  I have now become a member of the United Spiritualists and am Cetificated as a Medium through them – Reading Spiritualist Association (the church I started in Reading) is also affiliated to them.  I do not believe that the SNU holds a monopoly over Spiritualism, its history or its legacy.  But this is my opinion and I am in no way trying to suggest to anyone that they should hold these beliefs too.

You will have noticed that I have not included any names in this statement as I do not believe it would be of any use but I felt it was important to make a statement about why I will no longer demonstrate at Reading Spiritualist Church.
